General Sports Alliances (GSA), a national sponsorship sales and consulting firm, is pleased to announce the hiring of Erik Bechtold as Director of Sales. In this role, Erik's primary focus will be the procurement of new business as well as managing the sales growth of current GSA clients. Specifically, Erik's responsibilities will include direct sales, consulting, client evaluation and sponsorship negotiation.
Prior to joining the GSA team, Erik honed his skills in the sports industry as an Account Executive for Kroenke Sports Enterprises (KSE). During Erik's tenure at KSE, he was responsible for generating corporate sponsorship sales for the Colorado Rapids (MLS), Colorado Avalanche (NHL), Denver Nuggets (NBA) and the Colorado Crush (AFL). In 2007, Erik was ranked among the top 10 Sales Account Executives throughout Major League Soccer. Additionally, while Erik was a member of the Rapids' Corporate Sponsorship team, the department secured over $4 million in sponsorship revenue.

A native of Hershey, Pennsylvania, Erik graduated from the Metropolitan State College of Denver in 2006 with a Bachelor's Degree in Sports Industry Operations and a minor in Marketing. He is an avid West Virginia University sports fan who enjoys ice hockey, golf and snowboarding. Erik currently resides in Denver with his wife Sara and their dog Oscar.
